Reserving Kids from our Kidding Schedule

We require a $100 non-refundable deposit on all kids reserved before birth. Since all kids are bottle raised, babies reserved prior to birth need to be shipped or picked up by 4 weeks of age (some exceptions can be made) to help reduce our work load. We reserve the right to modify pricing on kids once they are born, pricing them higher or lower as we deem appropriate. We will, if reserved ahead of time with a paid deposit, lock in the quoted price on the  kidding schedule. Yes, we do take paypal but we ask that you add an additional 3% to the amount because of rising costs. Thanks!

Purchasing Kids

All of our goats are registered with the American Dairy Goat Association only. Papers will be mailed separate from the kid to the buyer when a kid is shipped.

When purchasing kids, please remember that leaving home is stressful for them. Babies handle stress by getting diarrhea and sniffles, sometimes coughs. Their little systems need therapeutic support to get through this time period. Most of our kids do fine because they're so handled but occasionally one will get sick. We ask that you keep support products on hand for you baby goat. On our end, we do everything possible to ensure kids will take their move easily. All kids will be disbudded and tattooed. We use Calf Pro as a coccidia prevention in their milk 1x per day. All kids are given a Vitamin B Complex and Bo-Se injection as an immune system boost at birth. They are each given a dose of probios to keep their belly happy before travel. All kids are dewormed between 6-8 weeks if still at our farm. We highly recommend treating your baby with toltrazuril 1x per month for coccidia prevention. We do NOT recommend Corrid as it depletes their little systems of Thiamine (B1). All wethers will be banded at 30 days of age. We're here to help and welcome your calls if you need us! Our babies are important to us!

Purchasing Goats from our Sales Page

Should you wish to purchase an  animal listed on our sales page we require half the purchase price as a non-refundable deposit unless other arrangements are agreed upon by us. This will hold the animal of your choice until you make transport arrangements. All sold goats must leave 30 days after the deposit was received. Should we have to hold an animal for more than 30 days, full payment is expected. We will also charge a $2.50 per day boarding charge if pick-up is not made when previously arranged. All monies received are non refundable should the purchaser back out. If you back out for any reason our deal is completed. If a bred Doe is left with us for an extended period of time and gives birth here we retain the right to keep the kids as payment for caring for the pregnant Doe, kidding out the pregnant Doe and caring for her kids. As a breeder we retain the right to issue a DOE ONLY service memo on  any or all bred does sold from our herd. We ONLY allow exceptional bucks  from exceptional dams to proudly carry our herd name. Thanks for your understanding in this matter. Should the need arise to cancel the sale on our part, we will give proper notice before doing so. If this should happen all payments and deposits made will be refunded unless the buyer chooses to transfer the deposit to a different goat. Payments must be made in full before a goat leaves our farm. It is of utmost importance to us to have animals ready to go when THEY are ready. Therefore, they will only leave when we believe they're ready to do so. We are not difficult to work with; if you tell us what you have in mind from the beginning we can usually work something out. So if you're interested in an animal and have a financial plan in mind, please let us know. We'll see what we can do!

Transporting Goats

When considering a goat from our herd, please consider how you will get it home. We would be happy to help make arrangements but ultimately  transportation is arranged completely by the buyer. When shipping a goat via air, you are responsible for purchasing the appropriate pet carrier, health certificates, flight costs and covering the mileage it takes us to get your goat to the vet and the airport. We would be happy to check which local airlines will transport animals and are happy to help with making arrangements. We will do our best to accommodate the arrangements but we would appreciate a choice as to what day and time is good for us to take the animal to the airport.

Testing and Herd Health

All of Mighty Pine's Goats are tested annually (once a year) for CAE. We continue to maintain a CAE Negative Herd. Please check with your state as to required health tests if any are needed. We would be happy to have the tests run, however, you would be required to pay for them in advance. We can give you an estimate of cost, should you need it. Note to buyers: We will NOT test animals under 3 months old. Please don't ask. All animals being shipped MUST have health certificates before leaving our farm. Health certificates are at the buyers expense. It's good, cheap insurance for the buyer knowing your animal is healthy when it leaves our farm. Once the animal leaves, it's up to the buyer to ensure it's properly cared for in transit. We will not be held responsible for animals who become injured or ill during shipping. Unfortunately accidents happen. Our  animals are healthy, happy and loved. We want to ensure they stay that way in their new homes!

CAE Prevention: All of Mighty Pine's Does are tested annually for CAE and normally right before kidding season. We continue to maintain a CAE Negative Herd. We do not heat treat our colostrum or the milk we feed out kids. We feel it does more harm than good to do this. We want our kids to get as much nutrition as they can from the milk their mother provides for them. If you're buying a kid and would like the colostrum heat treated, we will do that for an additional cost.
This must be specified before the kid is born.

CL: I do not believe in blood testing for CL, nor does my vet. From the research conducted as well as others experience, we have come to the conclusion that CL blood testing is worthless. It's a complete waste of time and money. The only accurate CL test is a fluids test from the matter drawn from the cyst on the animal itself. Seeing as we have NEVER had a case of CL or a suspicious abscess on any of our animals, it's been impossible for us to test for it. We have sold animals that have been blood tested for CL with all negative results though. We will have the testing run for a purchaser at their expense but we will not test our herd for it.

Johne's Disease: We rarely run this test since it's so incredibly inaccurate and a waste of our valuable dollars. If you would like Johne's testing on an animal at your expense, we'd be happy to make the arrangements.

TB: We do not test for TB but will at the buyers expense.

Brucellosis: We do not test for Brucellosis but will at the buyers expense.

Guarantees

We can not and will not guarantee milk production, height or possible scurs.

We do not guarantee the fertility of Does unless hermaphroditism becomes apparent as the animal matures.  A Doe sold as bred is not guaranteed to be pregnant, just that she received normal service from the buck. We cannot and will not guarantee the outcome of a bred doe sold before kidding. Does can easily abort when stressed. Transporting a bred doe from Mighty Pine Acres to her new home is a risk that the buyer agrees to when purchasing a goat. Kidding issues do happen and while we are willing to work with our buyers we assume no responsibly for the outcome of a kidding.

We guarantee the fertility of our bucks. After reaching one year of age a buck should be capable of servicing a Doe. Should the buck prove to be a non-breeder, the buyer shall notify us within 60 days from the first time he was used for service. The buck would need to be over one year of age and the buyer shall provide sufficient proof (such as a statement from a veterinarian that said buck is sterile). The buyer is expected to provide appropriate care and feed for their animals. If the animal has been neglected, we guarantee nothing. We have the option of making a satisfactory exchange or refunding the money. In no case shall we be responsible for more than the selling price. Animals that are exchanged are done so at the purchasers expense. We require the original registration papers returned in an animal exchange or refund.

We do not guarantee any animal that is sold without registration papers.

Any further guarantees are neither expressed nor implied. We have no idea what sort of care or treatment our goats receive once they leave our possession. We can only hope they get the best care. Therefore you are responsible for their health  and well being. We love our goats and hope you will too!

All Goats, big and small must be paid for IN FULL before leaving Mighty Pine Acres.

*We do not accept personal checks for livestock leaving our property*

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CONSIDERING OUR HERD!!
